Welcome to the home of Potomac Valley Search & Rescue, a ground based Search and Rescue team based out of the University of Maryland-College Park. PVRG is a member team of the Appalachian Search & Rescue Conference and operates in the states of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware and the Eastern portion of Ohio.
PVSAR started as an honors course for students in 1996 and has evolved into a full service volunteer emergency urban and wildland search and rescue organization with over 45 active members. Our members are undergraduate and graduate university students, university staff and faculty and non university affiliated volunteers.
All necessary training is provided to our members free of charge and no outdoor experience is necessary. You only need the willingness to learn and serve.
